SINGLE HELIX PUMP FEATURES

Quality and experience - Our pumping units are manufactured in the United States by the Sunward Corporation and we are backed by an experienced staff with many years of quality engineering and manufacturing excellence.  The Helix Pumping Units provide you with one of the most economical and efficient methods of production.  In the Helix unit, the tail and center bearings are located along the center line of the walking beam, therefore, the cyclic forces are dissipated in the web of the I-beam.  Bearings take the forces uniformly, and the equipment lasts longer. The Helix Pumping Unit is designed so that the tail bearing, slow speed shaft and rear samson post base are aligned, so the opposing forces are evenly absorbed by the structure.  The bearings are also self aligning, so they equally distribute stresses in the walking beam. Telescoping Horsehead- Simplifies vertical unit alignment during set-up and well servicing.  The heasehead on the Helix pumping unit slides along the waling beam. During installation adjustments are made by sliding the heasehead along the beam until the wire line is directly over the polished rod.  An added benefit of this feature, is that the horsehead is easy to move out of the way for well servicing.  The service brake is an internally expanding, durm-type, sealed unit, which helps assure the most effective braking.  To prevent adverse weather from affecting the operation of the brake, the cable is totally enclosed in flexible metallic hoses to help portect from moisture and damage.  This heavy duty brake system is capable of holding the cranks in their maximum load position with the polished rod disconnected.   The Helix Samson posts are closed pipe sections for greater strength which helps distribute forces uniformly throughout the structure.  The Helix unit is designed in pre-assemble modules.  The modualr approach premits easy shipping and field assembly.  Service and repair are simplified as well. Helix counterweight designs reduce your horsepower requirements. The cranks are clamped on the slow speed shaft by large, heavy duty bolts and are additionally secured by extra heavy duty keys.  This makes easy removal in the field practical. To obtain the correct and most effective counter balance, Sunward Pumping Units are equippened with special counterweights mounted on the cranks, which feature T-slots on both sides.  This mounting system permits fast and precise positioning of the counterweights.  Auxiiary counter weights are available for additonal effective  counter ballance,  which simpy bolt on the top of the master weights.  All Sunward Pumping  Units feature the "floor clearing" type configuration.  A crank guard enclosure should be used. This guard may be acquired as optional equipment. (Refer to Operators Manual.)
