The Sunward Pumping Units may "look" like other beam type pumping units from a distance but upon closer inspection, you will find design innovations that drasmatically improve durability and performance. From double helical gears to extra heavy duty bearing systems. The gear boxes ranage from 57,000 to 912,000 inch pounds of API torgue ratings. Peak polish rod load sizes are from 9,500 pounds through 42,700 pounds. Maximum stroke lengths range from 54 inches through 168 inches.

Gears are supported by extra heavy duty bearings that represent the latest in bearing technology.  These advanced designs spread the forces of stress more uniformly for longer bearing life.

The bearings are submerged in oil to provide constant, even lubrication to reduce friction and wear. This positive lubrication system permits a wider range of gear reducer speeds.
